Our Story
Angolo PDX is owned and run by Francesca and Pasquale, two Italians who grew up with a deep love for food and tradition. Our mission is to bring the flavors of our childhood to Portland—the simple, honest dishes we grew up eating. Food in Italy is more than just a meal; it’s a way of life, a reason to gather, and a connection to home. At Angolo PDX, we are doing our best to honor that tradition.
Francesca grew up in Verona, Italy. Her love for food and cooking started at home, learning to cook from her mother, an incredible cook. She grew up with her mother in the kitchen, making lasagna, pasta, and family meals that brought everyone together, a tradition she now passes on by cooking with her own children.
Pasquale, our chef, is the heart of our kitchen. Born and raised in different parts of Italy throughout his life, he developed his own unique style of cooking, gathering inspiration from various cities and regions. His signature 72-hour dough is at the center of our menu, featured in our pizzas, focaccia sandwiches, and savory pastries.
